You should not use Taclonex® if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of its ingredients. You should not use Taclonex® if you have higher than normal levels of calcium in your blood, or if you have erythrodermic, exfoliative, or pustular psoriasis.
Note: Be sure to discuss your complete medical history with your dermatologist or healthcare provider. And if you are pregnant, nursing, or are thinking about becoming pregnant, talk to your dermatologist or healthcare provider immediately.
Some patients start to see results in as soon as 7 days. Others experience results in
4 weeks. Everyone is different. But don’t give up. Give Taclonex® time to work. To maximize your benefits with Taclonex®, keep using it as prescribed by your dermatologist or healthcare provider.
The recommended treatment period is 4 weeks. Only a dermatologist or healthcare provider can tell you to use Taclonex® beyond 4 weeks on an as-needed basis. Long-term safety and effectiveness have been evaluated over 52 weeks in patients using Taclonex® once daily when needed.
Only a dermatologist or healthcare provider can tell you to use Taclonex® in combination with another therapy. Taclonex® cannot be used while you are using another corticosteroid. Only use Taclonex® as directed by your dermatologist or healthcare provider.
A thin layer of Taclonex® should be applied to the affected area once daily and rubbed in gently and completely. It’s recommended that you apply it at night before bed. Most patients found bedtime to be the most convenient treatment time of the day.
Taclonex® is for external use only. Do not use on your face, under your arms, or in your groin. Wash your hands after applying Taclonex®.
Serious side effects may include too much calcium in your blood, or adrenal gland problems if you use too much or use it for too long. The most common side effects are itching, rash, and skin burning at the site of application.
If you use long-term doses of a topical corticosteroid, you should be evaluated periodically by your dermatologist or healthcare provider.
